Meet the Animals - Horses

Big Sky Ranch Animal Sanctuary is currently the home to several horses who are available for adoption to the right home.

Please drop by during visiting hours to meet our horses.
If you are not in the position to adopt an animal, please consider sponsoring one who has made Big Sky their permanent home.

Below are photos of some of our horses:

	Onyx is a beautiful girl! She is a 12 year old percheron cross. She stands at 16 hands. She is a very healthy horse and needs an experience rider. All of her shots and Ferrier are up to date.
	Barny is a very fiesty horse, about 14.5 hands and somewhere around 20 years old. Barny was a stallion until shortly before he was surrended to Big Sky. He needs someone who has time, patience but most of all experience with horses. Barny has the potential to be a wonderful horse, given proper guidance. Barny will only be adopted to someone with the necessary skills to work with him.
	Meet Big Charlie - at 17 hands this big guy needs someone to work with. You can tell he is shy at first but with some trust this guy can be a lot of fun, so, come out and meet him.
	Skippy is an 11 yr old standard bread. He is in great shape but his racing days are over and now looking for a good home he can call his own. He is a great horse to work with and is very laid back.
	Billy is a 3 year old gelded quarter horse cross. He stands at 15 hands and is up to date on his shots and Ferrier and is a very sweet horse. He needs an experienced rider.
	This is Dan; he is about 24yrs old but looks like he's 10! He is about 13 hands and is just a little teddy bear that loves people. Dan is a very nice horse that can be with any other horses.
	This is Dick; he is Dan's brother. He is about 13 hands and is around 25yrs old. He is very easy to handle and also loves people. A very nice little horse who is looking for a good home.
	Meet Cisco - he is 6 year old gelded paint. He has all of his shots up to date & he stands 14 hands high. He is very healthy and needs an experienced rider and a good home.
	Ian is a 4 year old gelded paint. He stands at 15 hands and is up to date on all his shots and Ferrier. He is a very gentle horse but is a little pushy in the morning for his breakfast.
	Thor is gelded and is 18 years old and 14 hands high. He's a very beautiful Standardbred horse with some riding experience. You should be an experienced rider for Thor.
	Fury is an 8 year old Standardbred. He came to the ranch with his good friend Snickers and if at all possible, it would be nice to see them go to the same home together. Fury is curious when in new surroundings which is what makes him such a good friend in helping Snickers adjust to new circumstances. Fury has a great, loving disposition.
	Snickers is a 4 year old Standardbred. Look at that beautiful long mane! He came to the ranch with his good friend Fury and if at all possible, it would be nice to see them go to the same home together. Snickers is very gentle and a bit shy with new circumstances.
	Sarge stands about 15 hands tall and is a 9 year old Paint. Sarge is a mare and she is very loving. Unfortunately, Sarge can no longer be ridden, but would make a terrific pasture horse.
	Willow is an 8 year old Appaloosa and has a great personality. She has been ridden and has all of her shots.
	Chester is a 4 year old welsh pony gelding who stands about 13 hands high. Chester is extremely social and is curious about everything, especially if he thinks it's food! He has been ridden.
	Lady Di is a 16 year old paint. She has lost 85% of her eyesight and has become quite shy as a result. She is very gentle and needs a loving owner who she can trust.
	Miss Annie is a 7 year old paint who stands at about 15 hands. She is up-to-date with her shots and is rideable. Miss Annie is very gentle.
	Toy is an 8 yr old thoroughbred, standing 17 hands tall and she has all her shots. Toy and Missy came to the ranch together and their bond is very strong. Toy should be kept together with her long time friend Missy.
	This is Missy. She is a 13 yr old thoroughbred, she has all her shots and is very laid back. Missy needs a forever home and should be kept together with her long time friend Toy.
	This is Hayley. She is a 13 yr old thoroughbred, she has all her shots. In her day, she was a racer and we are told she was a winner quite a few times. Now, Hailey is content to let kids ride her at a more leisurely pace and is very patient with even the most novice rider.
	Guiness is a 9 year old Thoroughbred, Dutch warmblood mix. He has all his shots and is gelded. Guiness is very laid back and he can sometimes be found lying down eating his hay in the field while enjoying his peaceful surroundings at the Big Sky Ranch. The vet has checked Guiness and given him a clean bill of health.
	This is King, he is a 10 yr old blind Canadian horse who is 17 hands high has all his shots and is gelded. King is very laid back and would make a great companion for another horse.
	This is Moose. He is a paint miniature horse who has all his shots and is gelded. Moose has had children on him, but needs someone who has time to work with him.
	Meet lndy ... he is a 4 yr old standard breed who is looking for a good home. You need to be an experienced rider. Indy has been fully checked out by our vet.
	Bank on the left is a 9 year old gelded standard breed horse, 17 hands high. He is a good riding horse with a wonderful temperment. Deeter on the right is 22 years old, standard breed, gelded horse, 15 hands. Bank and Deeter have been good friends for many years, so it would be nice to keep them together if possible.
	Diesel is a 4 year old Welsh Pony, who is gelded and 13 hands high. Loving horse with a wonderful personality. Good riding pony for young kids.
	Blaze is a 4 year old registered Paint horse who is 15.2 hands high. She is a wonderful horse and is a good riding horse.
	Scotty is 4 years old and is a Pertron Cross. He is gelded, kind, good with kids and other horses. Scotty is an excellent riding horse.
	Danny is a handsome 16 hands high Standard Breed. He has a wonderful temperment and is a beautiful horse. He needs an experienced rider.
	This is Zeus ... he is 1 1/2 years old and is gelded. He is a beautiful black and white paint horse with a wonderful personality.
	Leo is an 8 year old experienced barrel racer who loves to be ridden, dispite the fact that he is partially blind. He is 15.5 hands high and has a wonderful temperment.
	Spirit is a beautiful registered pure paint horse. She is 7 years old and 16 hands high. She is a very happy horse and needs an experienced rider.
	Kelly is a beautiful horse who is blind in one eye and so needs an experienced rider. She is 7 years old and 15.5 hands high.
	Victor is an ex-race horse who once came 2nd in the Queens Plate. He is 10 years old and 17 hands high. He would need an experienced rider and he has a very nice temperment.
